This Chili Coffee Rubbed Steak is a tasty and fragrant dish that combines the strong tastes of chili powder and coffee with the rich taste of beef. When the steak is grilled, the rub makes a tasty crust that makes the steak juicy and tender with just the right amount of heat and smoke.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp ground coffee
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 beef steaks such as ribeye or sirloin, about 1 inch thick

Instructions:

Put chili powder, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl

Spread a lot of the spice mix on both sides of each steak

For the flavors to really sink in, let the steaks sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes

Set your grill or grill pan on medium-high heat to get it ready to use

For medium-rare, grill the steaks for about 4 to 5 minutes per side

You can change the cooking time to get the level of doneness you want

Grab the steaks from the grill and give them a moment to rest before you serve them
